Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Eviscerates ‘Lying’ White House and Media With Facts About COVID Vaccines for Babies and Young Children
“So, the White House is lying about it,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) responded to a reporter’s question this week about the White House’s claim his state reversed on the COVID vaccines for young children and was now ordering them.
DeSantis said he is “not surprised the White House is lying,” and “definitely not surprised that legacy media would amplify the lie because that’s what they do.”
“They came out with an article saying the state of Florida … its Department of Health has not ordered mRNA jabs for the babies,” he explained. “Yes, we didn’t. We recommend against it. We are not going to have any programs where we’re trying to jab six month old babies with mRNA. That’s just the reality.”
DeSantis said he believes the White House “somehow” assumed he would be “embarrassed” by that decision. He continued:
No, we’re following the data. You look at these European countries … a lot of them don’t even allow Moderna for under age 30, or they recommend against it. So, that was always that; we still have not ordered it, we’re not going to order it. Now, what they’re saying is because practitioners and hospitals can order it, somehow we reversed. I said from the beginning they’ll be able to do that. We don’t have the authority to prevent it.
DeSantis showed the media he has considerable command of the facts regarding the COVID shots for young children.
“If someone wants to make a different decision, I would just caution people, look at the actual data in the clinical trial,” he explained:
It is the weakest possible data that you could possibly see. Very small number of people. What the recommendation is from them doesn’t even track the outcomes.
Jane Orient, M.D., executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), also told Lumen-News last week – as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) were rushing to approve the shots for babies and young children – of the very weak data on which approvals were based.
“The chance of a child dying of COVID-19 is virtually zero, and the majority of children already have antibodies,” she said. “So why should they take any risk from a vaccine that has not even been shown to prevent infection or transmission?”
“The number of children in studies is tiny, not nearly enough to determine safety,” Orient added. “Yet some children under five have already had heart damage after getting the as-yet-unauthorized vaccine off label. How many child heart attacks or deaths are too many?”
“People can ask their pediatricians, they can ask their doctors,” the governor said. “What’s the evidence of protection against severe disease? There was none in the clinical trial. But that’s something that people would do.”
DeSantis said Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joe Ladapo and the state’s Department of Health have evaluated the shots for young children.
“There is no proven benefit to put a baby with an mRNA, so that’s why our recommendation is against it,” he continued. “That’s different than prohibiting the use in Florida, which we don’t have the authority to do and, quite frankly, you know, we’re confident people can make their own judgments.”
“But, I would say when you look at the trial, one of the things they did, they did not have babies or very young kids who had recovered from COVID in the trial,” the governor pointed out:
So, we don’t know what this will do for people that have recovered, but in their recommendation they are recommending giving the mRNA shot to people, young babies and kids, that have already recovered from COVID. They don’t have any clinical data on that.
Dr. Katarina Lindley of the World Council for Health spoke during the FDA public hearing portion of its meeting. Lindley observed a fact referred to by DeSantis: that CDC has assessed about 74.2 percent of children in the United States have had COVID already.
“Over 150 studies show natural immunity is superior,” she stated. “The infection fatality rate under five years of age is 0.1 in 100,000, or, 1 in a million. The risk of the shot in the already immune is higher than 1 in a million.”
“Both Pfizer and Moderna expressly eliminated those that were naturally immune from their studies,” Lindley pointed out. “They did this to avoid the hyperimmune response and, possibly, death. Vaccinating the already immune presents a serious threat for a hyperimmune response.”
If a child has shown no symptoms of COVID, but has been exposed, how would parents or a pediatrician know not to administer the COVID shot?
British diagnostic pathologist Dr. Clare Craig, co-chair of the HART Group, also explained why the shots should not have been approved by the FDA.
Focusing on the “shocking” Pfizer trial, Craig explained the trial “recruited 4,526 children aged from 6 months to 4 years old; 3,000 of these children did not make it to the end of the trial.”
“That is a huge number,” she stressed. “Two-thirds of them. Why was there this drop off? That needs to be answered. And without an answer to that, on that basis alone, this trial should be deemed null and void.”
Next, Craig said the Pfizer team “defined severe COVID as children who had a slightly raised heart rate or a few more breaths per minute.”
“There were 6 children aged 2 to 4, who had severe COVID in the vaccine group, but only one in the placebo group,” she explained. “So, on that basis, the likelihood that this vaccine is actually causing severe COVID is higher than the likelihood that it isn’t. There was actually one child who was hospitalized in this trial. They had a fever and a seizure. They had been vaccinated.”
Ultimately, what Pfizer did was “to utterly twist the data,” she said:
They vaccinated the children and they waited 3 weeks after the first dose, before the second dose. In that 3-week period, 34 of the vaccinated children got COVID, and only 13 in the placebo group, which worked out as a 30% increased chance of catching COVID in that 3-week period if you were vaccinated. So, they ignored that data.
During the 8-week gap between the second and third doses, many children got COVID in the vaccine group – “and they ignored that data,” she explained.
“There was then several weeks after the third dose which they also ignored, which meant that in the end, they had ignored 97% of the COVID that occurred during the trial,” Craig asserted. “And they just looked at tiny numbers, so tiny in the end they were comparing three children in the vaccine arm who had COVID with seven in the placebo arm, and they said that this showed the vaccine was effective.”
DeSantis noted the White House is “bragging that we’re the only country that is trying to do mRNA shots for infants, and I’m just thinking to myself, ‘Well, wait a minute.’ There’s nothing wrong with … being the Lone Ranger if you’re right, but the other countries in Europe that are going a different direction similar to the direction Florida has gone? They have been right on COVID way more than Fauci and his crew have been throughout this whole thing.”
The governor reminded his listeners:
Remember, these are people in Washington that rejected the idea of natural immunity. For a year and a half. They said that the vaccine was better than prior infection and every credible study that’s been done, has said that that’s not the case. And so, they’ve been wrong, time and time again. They were wrong when they criticized me for having schools open. They wanted our kids locked out of school in the state of Florida. They were wrong when they criticized me for having businesses, open beaches, all these other things. And, so, this is an example of where they are pushing this with very, very, very scant data.
“But again, people can make their judgments, but ask questions,” DeSantis urged. “And the fact of the matter is, I think what this whole year and a half has shown us is these regulatory agencies in the federal government have basically become subsidiaries of the pharmaceutical companies. They are not independent regulators. They basically are there to rubber stamp what Pfizer wants to do so people can make their judgments on it.”
